چکیده

The movement of piston in free-piston expander-linear generator (FPE-LG) mainly depends on the dynamic force balance among four kinds forces (air impetus, air resistance, electromagnetic resistance and frictional resistance). In this paper, Newton's Second Law first law thermodynamics are used to analyze single-piston FPE-LG, change work produced by analyzed. Nominal work-electricity conversion loss coefficient is proposed for firs time represent energy loss. experiment results show that from top dead center (TDC) bottom (BDC) higher than those BDC TDC. minimum proportion consumption also more 50%, less 20%, 20%. Therefore, total nominal can be effectively reduced increasing intake or pressure.

Numerical analysis of a free piston problem ∗

The problem considered is the Stokes and Navier-Stokes flow through a system of two pipes in the gravity field; inside a vertical pipe there is a free heavy piston. Theoretical analysis, the existence and non-uniqueness of solution, has been completed recently by the authors. Here we present numerical analysis, using finite elements methods, of the stationary state with respect to the angle bet...

Casimir force on a piston

We consider a massless scalar field obeying Dirichlet boundary conditions on the walls of a two-dimensional L×b rectangular box, divided by a movable partition (piston) into two boxes of dimensions a × b and (L − a) × b. We compute the Casimir force on the piston in the limit L → ∞. Regardless the value of a/b, the piston is attracted to the nearest end of the box. Asymptotic expressions for th...

Operational Strategies for a Free Piston Energy Converter

This paper investigates how the losses in a Free Piston Energy Converter during start, stop and idling affects energy consumption and required power from the supply system. Simulation results indicate that the electrical machine efficiency is the most critical factor during start. Moreover, by choosing the correct amplitude of the starting force, energy consumption during start can be reduced. ...

Free-Piston Diesel Engine Dynamics and Control

Free-piston diesel engines are characterized by freely moving pistons without any rigid crankshaft or camshaft connected to the pistons. This allows a highly compact and e cient engine design, but requires automatic control of the piston motion. This paper present a dynamic mathematical model of a free-piston diesel engine, a control oriented dynamic analysis, and a novel computer-based piston ...
